The free-to-view satellite broadcaster, Freesat, has been awarded the ‘Best New Brand or Business’ class at the prestigious Marketing Society Awards for Excellence.
 
This is an important award for the satellite service, which delivered some stiff competition to compete with in this class, including the BBC’s iPlayer service that was established at the end of 2007 and has celebrated growth to the extent that ISPs are worried about the bandwidth utilised through the service.
 
Freesat recently proclaimed that its customer base of operations has risen to over four hundred thousand, and presently the satellite service are offering its spectators admittance to over a 140 digital television and Radio channels.
 

The free access to HD channels has expanded Freesat’s fame, offering an choice to the pay-to-view service offered by BSkyB.
